Deipnon at July 2016

It was Sunday, June 2016. The day of Hekate's Deipnon. I cleaned the house, organised everything and burnt sacred incense in the house and around the house. I took a ritual bath to cleanse myself and I started preparing Deipnon.

The main offerings were loukoumades, a doughnut made of flour and the enfused in honey. I prepared the dish with loukoumades, a bread roll, onion and garlic, bread, raisins. I went in the main entrance of the house. It was 12 o 'clock in the midnight. I lit some candles around deipnon, as the ancients did so that Hekate will find it. I burn some sweet incense from frankincense, amber and dianthus. The atmosphere in the dark night was majestic. I invoked Hekate and when I heard dogs barking, ,then I told something like:

"I dedicate this dish to the restless spirits that follow the Queen of the Underworld, Hekate Tartarouchos, who walks this night in the dark earth visiting the earth realm. I offer to you Hekate Chthonia this Deipnon in your honor. I hope you will find comfort in this chair and the offerings will make you and your spirits happy. May my place will offer to you and your company rest and as you walk, bless this house, bless the habitants, to be healthy, happy and strong. Chaire Hekate indomitable queen."

More devotees

The Covenant of Hekate is celebrating Hekate's Deipna officially every Dark Moon (1-2 days before the dark moon or at the dark moon). This monthly celebration has started after a divination I did for Hekate. This old custom was very widespread in the ancien classical, hellenistic, roman and byzantine period. Hekate is strong again and more and more devotees of Hers follow the tradition by offering-donating food to pets, to people, to charity organizations or they actually put offerings at the crossroads, at the threshold of their house, at their outdoors or indoors altar. I am posting an image from a new devotee of Hekate, who celebrated Deipnon in July 2016. She is Patricia Lillith Elizium Barros from São Paulo, Brazil and her offerings are: corn bread, olive oil, milk, honey, water, saffron and benzoin incense.
